According to IEC61000-4-11 and IEC61000-4-29, the voltage interruption test requirements for edge computing boxes are as follows: interruption time 10ms/20ms/50ms/100ms/5000ms. Upon recovery, the device should not be damaged, and functionality should be automatically restored. Performance class determination:
Class A: No functional loss during testing;
Class B: Temporary performance degradation with self-recovery;
Class C: Requires manual reset. Industrial edge boxes typically require Class A, meaning that during the interruption, energy is maintained by capacitor storage, and automatic recovery occurs after the interruption ends.
The design requires a sufficient capacitor, such as 1000μF/50V, connected in parallel at the power input, along with a TVS 5.0SMDJ33CA with a clamping voltage of 53.3V to prevent capacitor overvoltage. Actual testing shows that after a 20ms interruption, the output voltage drops by less than 5%, and recovery occurs within 2ms after the interruption is lifted, meeting Class A requirements.
