How to suppress EMI in the electric operating mechanism of an FTU?

The electrically operated mechanism (motor, reducer) generates strong EMI. Suppression measures include: adding a nickel-zinc ferrite core to the motor power cable, 15mm inner diameter, with 5 turns; connecting two 0.1μF/630V capacitors in parallel across the motor terminals; adding RC snubber (47Ω + 2.2nF) to the driver output; and installing a 1mm thick metal shield around the entire mechanism with conductive gaskets at the seams. The shield is grounded via a low-impedance path. Shielded twisted-pair cables are used for the operating signal lines. This suppression reduces motor EMI by more than 40dB, meets EN55032 Class A limits, and passes the IEC 61000-4-3 10V/m radiated immunity test.
