The gigabit Ethernet port of the industrial AI edge gateway is optimized to meet the EN55032 Class B limit for conducted emissions. Measures include:
1) A common-mode choke (CMZ2012A-900T) with 90Ω 100MHz common-mode impedance provides 25dB attenuation between the PHY and RJ45 connector;
2) The transformer center tap is connected to signal ground via a 1kV 1000pF capacitor;
3) The PHY power supply uses a PBZ1608E600Z0T ferrite bead and a 10μF capacitor for π-type filtering;
4) PCB layout ensures the Ethernet transformer is less than 15mm from the connector and has a cutout underneath for enhanced isolation.
CISPR25 testing shows that the quasi-peak conducted emissions in the 0.15-30MHz range are more than 6dB below the limit.
