How to design frequency converters in the early stages to avoid later modifications

Systematic EMC design in the early stages of inverter product development is fundamental to avoiding costly remediation later and ensuring project progress. Early design should adhere to the principle of "prevention first, design integration." During the system architecture phase, overall shielding, grounding, and filtering strategies should be planned, such as determining the cabinet shielding level, grounding system type, and filter configuration. During circuit design, reserved space and packaging for protection and filtering components should be provided for all I/O ports, even if not initially mounted on the prototype. PCB layout is paramount; detailed EMC layout and routing specifications must be established and strictly enforced, including minimizing power loops, zoned layout, routing rules for critical signals (clock, drive, sampling), complete ground plane design, and power decoupling design. Structural design should be synchronized with hardware design, clearly defining gap treatment, shielding materials, and interface shielding schemes. An EMC-specific review should be organized before the first hardware prototype is completed, checking the schematic and PCB. Market-proven, reliable EMC components should be selected, such as those from Echotronics. By solidifying EMC design knowledge into the company's design specifications and checklists, and strictly implementing them in the early stages of each project, the vast majority of EMC problems can be eliminated at the drawing stage, greatly reducing later risks.
