How to control EMI on AC power lines using a power line carrier PLC?

Controlling AC power line EMI in a PLC requires a comprehensive design encompassing filtering, shielding, and grounding. An EMI filter, including a common-mode inductor CML4532A-510T, an X capacitor (0.47μF), and a Y capacitor (2.2nF), should be installed at the power line inlet. Shielded cables should be used, with both ends of the shield grounded (length <1m). Wiring should be kept away from sensitive circuits, with parallel spacing greater than 30cm. On the PCB, the power line area should be separately defined and isolated using a ground plane. Conducted emissions should be predicted through simulation to optimize filter parameters. In actual testing, conducted emissions tests were performed, meeting the EN55032 Class B limit margin of greater than 6dB in the 150kHz-30MHz frequency band. Controlling AC power line EMI enables the system to pass certification tests and enhances market competitiveness.
