How to ensure the continuity of the shielding layer in industrial servo systems?

Ensuring the continuity of the shielding layer throughout the servo system, from sensors, cables, and connectors to the internal components, is fundamental to maintaining overall shielding effectiveness. Eintech's safeguards include:

1) Using fully shielded cables and connectors.

2) Crimping or welding the cable shielding layer to the connector housing to ensure a 360-degree loop connection, avoiding "pigtail" connections.

3) Achieving low-impedance lap joints between connectors and the equipment housing (as mentioned above).

4) Inside the equipment, if shielded cables need to be connected to the PCB, the shielding layer should be connected to the PCB's ground plane via shielded connectors or directly through metal clips. This ground plane should have multiple connections to the housing.

5) Regular inspection and maintenance to prevent loosening due to vibration or corrosion. A milliohm meter can be used to measure the DC resistance of the shielding path; the resistance between any two points should be <100mΩ.

Through continuous control of the entire path, the shielding system can provide stable and high shielding effectiveness in the 30MHz-1GHz frequency band, a prerequisite for solving radiated interference and immunity issues.
