The EMC design of a clean bench is relatively basic. If a SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) is used to control the fan speed, an inductor or choke should be added to the power input, and an RC snubber circuit should be connected in parallel across the SCR. If an EC (Electronic Controlled Rectifier) motor is used, its driver should be properly filtered. The ballasts/drivers of lighting fixtures (usually fluorescent or LED lamps) must comply with relevant EMC standards. Speed control potentiometers or button signals on the control panel should be debounced and filtered. The metal casing of the clean bench should be grounded. Place the clean bench in a suitable location in the laboratory, avoiding parallel routing of its power cords with signal lines of precision instruments.
