How to adapt the EMC of an outdoor-installed PCS energy storage system to the environment?

Outdoor-installed PCS are directly exposed to complex natural and electromagnetic environments, requiring additional environmental compatibility considerations in EMC design.

1. Lightning and Surge Protection: Comprehensive surge protectors (SPDs) and equipotential bonding systems are essential to handle direct and induced lightning strikes.

2. Harsh Weather Protection: The cabinet must meet high protection standards (e.g., IP54), but rainproofing and shielding of ventilation openings must be balanced, potentially requiring specially structured shielded ventilation windows.

3. Wide Temperature Range Operation: Components and filters (especially magnetic components) must operate stably over a wide temperature range with acceptable parameter drift.

4. Sunlight and Radiation: The metal casing coating's resistance to UV aging and the potential impact of seam deformation due to drastic temperature changes on shielding continuity are crucial considerations.

5. Field Grounding: Relying on a field grounding grid, clear grounding guidelines and interfaces are required, and the impact of soil corrosion on the grounding system must be considered. Industrial-grade or automotive-grade components must be selected, and rigorous environmental adaptability testing is essential.
