The EMC design of HFOVs is extremely challenging. The high-power drive lines for the oscillators (pistons or loudspeakers) must use shielded twisted-pair or coaxial cables, and feedthrough filters may be installed at the output. The power supply for the drive amplifier needs to be independent and well-filtered, and can utilize high-current ferrite beads (PBZ series) and large-capacity capacitors. The entire drive unit should be housed in a grounded, metal-shielded enclosure. Analog control signals (e.g., pressure feedback) must be opto- or magnetically isolated from the power section. The entire power input must be equipped with high-current-rated medical-grade EMI filters and surge protection devices.
