Which EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) devices are helpful for the design and modification of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machines?

The primary concern in the EMC design of ECMO is ensuring the safety of the blood pump drive system. The brushless DC motor (BLDC) driver for the centrifugal pump requires a high-performance filter at its power input, and the power output lines can use shielded cables or ferrite cores. The driver's control signals (e.g., Hall effect feedback) should use differential transmission and, if possible, opto-isolation. All blood-contacting sensor signal links (e.g., pressure, temperature, blood oxygen) must employ isolation technology and be properly shielded. The entire unit should be housed in a metal chassis with proper grounding to provide a clean reference ground for all internal modules. All external communication interfaces must be electrically isolated and protected against ESD.
