What EMC tests are required for FCC certification of edge computing boxes?

Edge computing boxes exported to the United States require FCC Part 15 Subpart B voluntary certification or SDoC certification. The main testing items are radiated emissions (30MHz-6GHz) and conducted emissions (0.15-30MHz). For digital devices, the limits differ between Class A industrial and Class B civilian use. FCC certification accepts the ANSI C63.4 test method and adopts CISPR22 limits. Additionally, if a wireless module is included, FCC ID certification is required. Testing items include radiated spurious emission power limits and bandwidth. Edge box design should use EMI filters such as the CMZ3225A-501T common-mode inductor (500Ω, 100MHz) and PBZ1608E600Z0T ferrite beads to ensure ample conducted emission margin. Simultaneously, low-capacitance ESD devices such as ESDLC5V0D8B should be selected for the interface to avoid affecting signal quality. After FCC certification, the equipment can legally enter the North American market.
