The IEC61000-4-8 standard for power frequency magnetic field immunity testing uses a standard square coil with a side length of 1m or 2m, with single or multiple turns, to generate a uniform magnetic field. The edge box, used as a benchtop device, typically uses a 1m coil center and a 1m x 1m area for magnetic field uniformity testing (±3dB). Test levels are 4 (30A/m) and 5 (100A/m). The coil must be placed at the center, with the directions corresponding to the X, Y, and Z axes. The device is powered on during testing. The edge box has a plastic shell without shielding; a magnetic shielding sheet can be added, or an anti-magnetic field sensor can be selected. However, for power frequency magnetic fields, the PCB loop area control and interface common-mode inductor CML3225A-510T are mainly used to suppress induced electromotive force.
