The RF front-end of the industrial AI edge gateway 5G module is sensitive and susceptible to power-conducted interference, requiring separate EMC protection. This includes:
1) a PBZ1608E600Z0T ferrite bead and a 100μF tantalum capacitor in series at the module's power input to suppress ripple;
2) an ESD diode (ESD5V0D8B) at the USIM card interface;
3) RC filtering and a TVS (P4SMF3V3A) at the RF switch control I/O;
4) a reserved TVS at the antenna interface, requiring ultra-low capacitance such as PESD5V0S1UB with a junction capacitance of 0.2pF;
5) a 0.1μF capacitor in parallel for the module reset signal to prevent transient interference.
Actual measurements show that independent protection for the 5G module improves sensitivity by 3dB and stabilizes throughput at 1.2Gbps.
