Rapid screening of power line carrier (PLC) EMC pre-testing requires establishing a simplified test environment and process. Using an EMI receiver or spectrum analyzer with a near-field probe, conduct conducted pre-scans (150kHz-30MHz) and radiated pre-scans (30MHz-1GHz). Compare with standard limits to identify risky frequencies. Simultaneously perform simplified immunity tests, such as electrostatic discharge testing using an ESD gun. The pre-test environment can be set up in the R&D laboratory, saving on external testing costs. Through pre-testing, EMC issues can be detected early, reducing remediation costs by 90%. The rapid screening process can be integrated into the development cycle to ensure the product passes formal testing on the first attempt.
