The low-voltage surge protection is designed with a tiered discharge system based on energy levels.
The first tier (input line): uses a 2R090L-5.5×6 gas discharge tube (90V/3kA).
The second tier (equipment inlet): uses a 7D390K varistor (390V/2kA) paired with a CMZ3225A-501T common-mode inductor.
The third tier (board level): uses an SMBJ18CA TVS diode (18V/600W).
The fourth tier (chip level): uses an ESD5V0D8B.
Inter-tier coordination: decoupling is achieved through inductors or resistors.
Through this tiered design, the system can withstand 3kA surges with 8/20μs waveforms.
