Medical air sterilizers (e.g., ultraviolet, plasma, photocatalytic, etc.) must meet GB 9706.1, YY 0505 (domestic), and IEC 60601-1-2 (international) EMC standards. Internally, they may contain ultraviolet lamps and ballasts, fans, plasma generators, and ozone generators (if present). The standards require that the electromagnetic interference generated by these components (especially the high-voltage circuits that generate ozone or plasma) be controlled to prevent interference with the normal operation of other medical equipment in hospital wards (e.g., monitors, infusion pumps), and that the equipment's own control circuitry (e.g., timing, sensors) be stable.
