Urological lithotripsy endoscopes (e.g., ureteroscopes, nephroscopes, often used in conjunction with laser lithotripters) must meet GB 9706.1, YY 0505 (domestic), and IEC 60601-1-2 (international) EMC standards. They integrate endoscopic imaging with a laser fiber optic channel. The standards require that the camera system's image not be strongly interfered with (e.g., appearing as stripes or a black screen) when the high-energy pulses of the laser lithotripter (usually a holmium laser) are operating, while ensuring accurate laser energy transmission and control signals to prevent false triggering. Laser pulses are extremely strong sources of transient interference.
