The EMC design for a dental CBCT can be modeled after CT but scaled down. Servo drives for the rotating gantry should be properly filtered, and encoder feedback lines should be shielded. High-voltage cables for the X-ray tubes must be shielded, and filtering components may be added at the output of the high-voltage generator. The power supply for the flat panel detectors must be extremely clean; an independent power module can be used, and its high-speed data output lines (e.g., LVDS) should use shielded differential pairs with proper termination. The entire metal casing should be continuously grounded by welding. Communication between the control computer and the host should use fiber optic cable or a high-quality shielded network cable. The equipment should be installed away from large inductive loads.
