The management port (Console/RJ45) of the data center switch needs to support frequent hot-swapping operations. The peak inductive backflow voltage generated during hot-swapping can reach twice the operating voltage, requiring the TVS to have repetitive surge withstand capability. The EASTSRV05-4H (VRWM=5V, peak pulse power 400W) from EASTTE Electronics adopts a high-energy H-suffix design and has passed 1000 cycles of 8/20μs 5A repetitive surge testing without performance degradation. Its junction capacitance of 1.8pF is suitable for 115200bps serial communication. A parallel SMD2920-050-16V self-resetting fuse (holding current 0.5A) limits the hot-swapping inrush current to <1.5A. After 1000 hot-swapping cycles, the TVS leakage current is <1μA and the clamping voltage drift is <3%, meeting the hot-swapping requirements of the GR-1089-CORE.
