Infusion pumps must comply with GB 9706.1, YY 0505 (domestic), and IEC 60601-1-2 (international) EMC standards. As devices for precisely controlling infusion flow rate, the standards require that the motor stepping accuracy remain unaffected, the flow rate remain constant, and no false alarms or uncontrolled flow occur in the presence of radio frequency interference (e.g., the use of walkie-talkies nearby). The core of an infusion pump is the drive control of a stepper motor or peristaltic pump and a bubble/clogging detection sensor. The switching noise of the motor drive circuit and the sensitivity of the sensor circuit are the points of contention in EMC design.
