As life support equipment, ventilators are subject to extremely stringent EMC standards, requiring compliance with GB 9706.1, YY 0505 (domestic), and IEC 60601-1-2 (international). These standards mandate that when operating near strong interference sources such as radiofrequency surgical equipment (electrosurgical units), key parameters such as ventilation mode, tidal volume, and airway pressure must remain stable, preventing false triggering or shutdown due to interference. Ventilators contain flow/pressure sensors, proportional valves/stepper motor controls, turbine fans, and complex control algorithms; all of these components can potentially become sources or victims of interference.
