The semiconductor industry policies and export controls, such as the US Chip and Science Act, are important economic and trade concerns for China, and also key issues raised by Minister Wang Wentao during his talks with the US.

On June 1st, the Ministry of Commerce held a press conference, where spokesperson Shu Jueting introduced the recent key work in the business field and answered questions from reporters. Shu Jueting stated that on May 25th and 26th, during his trip to the United States to attend the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Trade Ministers' Meeting, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao held talks with US Secretary of Commerce Raymond Lam and Trade Representative Dai Qi respectively. Both sides believe that the economic and trade relationship between China and the United States is very important, exchanged views on economic and trade issues of their respective concern, and explored possible areas of cooperation. Both parties agree to continue and strengthen communication. We hope that the United States will work together with China to manage differences, jointly maintain and deepen pragmatic economic and trade cooperation between China and the United States under the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, benefiting both countries and their peoples, and promoting world economic development.
