Pulse oximeters non-invasively monitor blood oxygen saturation by transmitting infrared and red light. Their core photodiode (PD) is extremely sensitive to electrical noise. Because the device is frequently in direct contact with human skin, it is highly susceptible to electrostatic discharge (ESD). We have provided a protection scheme with ultra-low leakage current and ultra-low capacitance, creating an invisible protective barrier for the sensitive optical front end without affecting the acquisition of weak photocurrents. This ensures that blood oxygen values can be quickly locked and remain stable even in complex environments with low perfusion or background noise.
